DRUGS: Peru's dynamic drug trade

Peru's coca cultivation and cocaine processing is dynamic. According to 2010 figures published by the United Nations office on Drugs and Crime (Unodc) in its ‘World Drugs Report 2011', Peru's illicit coca cultivation increased by 2% in 2010 over the previous year. Though not a huge increase, Peru's coca cultivation has shifted geographically. It has re-surfaced in areas previously said by the Lima government to be under control. In addition, a greater amount of cocaine is being processed in-country.
